Dementia & Alzheimers

Every person with dementia is a unique individual, with their own identity, personality, and life experiences. Too often, however, they are viewed through a narrow lens focused solely on their condition, causing them to lose their sense of self and individuality. While some may require practical assistance with daily tasks like dressing, eating, or household chores, others may benefit from more social and engaging activities like going for walks, shopping trips, or visiting loved ones. Many individuals with dementia receive daily care from devoted spouses or family members. However, these caregivers also need respite from their demanding responsibilities. Our sitting service aims to provide that necessary break by temporarily relieving caregivers on a scheduled basis, allowing them time for self-care and personal activities. Additionally, we offer live-in care services for those who require more comprehensive, around-the-clock support and assistance.

How to deliver

Our goal is to create a less hierarchical management structure, promoting autonomy and responsibility within staff teams to boost employee morale and retention. The Registered Manager will be actively involved in overseeing service delivery, gathering feedback from service users, and swiftly resolving any issues. Regular staff supervision and support will be provided, along with monthly peer group meetings involving of the Registered Manager and care staff. Our care model will ensure continuity of care, with service users receiving care from familiar carers, including the Registered Manager and Field Care Supervisors. All staff members will undergo a comprehensive onboarding and training program tailored to their job description and the scope of services we provide. Care staff will have opportunities to develop skills related to care planning, evaluation, and report writing, enabling personal and
professional growth.
